Ultrasound Guided Injections

Ultrasound imaging is a safe and effective imaging technique to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions. The ultrasound guided injections is a minimally invasive procedure and is used to treat various musculoskeletal pain conditions such as tendonitis, bursitis, neuritis and to perform cyst aspiration. Ultrasound imaging provides high resolution images that enable the physicians to advance the injections deep into the target site and inject precisely without harming surrounding tissues. Physicians inject pain medications in combination with anesthesia directly into the site of injury to relieve the pain.

As this is a minimally invasive procedure, the risk is less and the recovery is much faster as compared to the other treatments for these conditions. Also it is performed as outpatient procedure and therefore it avoids the need for hospitalization of the patient. Often a course of several injections over the period of several weeks will be recommended for better outcomes.
