Sharon Harrison, PT
Sharon Harrison was born and raised in Southern California. She has been practicing with SCOS since 2003. She did her undergraduate work at California Polytechnic University, Pomona, CA achieving a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Biology, Magna Cum Laude. She went on to get her Master of Physical Therapy Degree from Western University of Sciences in Pomona, California, graduating at the top of her class.
Sharon has specialized in out-patient orthopedic physical therapy since 1994. She is skilled in manual therapy intervention involving soft tissue and joint mobilization techniques and combines that with a stretching program as well as functional and postural strengthening exercise programs to improve each patient’s rehabilitation potential. Every treatment plan is tailored to meet the specific needs of each patient considering diagnosis, demographics, prior level of function, and personal goals. She works closely with all of our physicians to ensure optimal recovery is achieved whether a patient has had surgery, is trying to prevent the need for surgery, or is rehabilitating a non-surgical injury. Education, body mechanics, posture, and measures of prevention are also an integral part of treatment so that patients become an independent participant in achieving their functional goals.
Physical therapy services encompass everything from neck to toe with the exception of the highly specialized and skilled hand therapy department services here at SCOS. We treat the whole person, acknowledging all psychosocial issues, to help our patients achieve their maximum potential.
Sharon resides in Mission Viejo with her husband. They have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. She is a runner and enjoys stand up paddle boarding and wake boarding.
