American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons

American College of Surgeons
The American College of Surgeons led 37 specialty societies in opposing a recent Government Accounting Office (GAO) report, which recommended that Congress consider consolidating all Medicare payments for assistants-at-surgery services under the hospital inpatient PPS. In a March 17 letter, the group argued that the GAO’s recommendations reach far beyond the scope of the Congressional request and have serious implications for the quality and safety of surgical patient care.

American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS)
Established in 1991, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) is committed to its mission of providing educational opportunities to its members. For the past several years, annual Fall meetings have addressed an increasingly broad array of scientific topics, such as implant design, results, surgical techniques and complications of primary and revision TJA, as well as the latest information available on socioeconomic issues affecting the specialty.
