Nanci Nielsen is an avid dancer, swimmer, runner and is on her feet all day at work. About two years ago, she noticed limitation in her movement and pain in her hip, which was diagnosed as arthritis and managed with medication. The pain eventually got worse and an X-ray showed bone on bone, which meant it was time for surgery. Dr. Robert Lance Montgomery with MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center performed hip replacement surgery giving Nanci back her mobility, so that she could continue her active lifestyle.
“Everyone on my care team was wonderful,” said Nanci. “I didn’t feel like just another patient. I didn’t have a moment of anxiety even though this was my first surgery and I had no pain after surgery. I’m now dancing again, walking 4 miles a day and swimming multiple times a week. I was so impressed by Saddleback Medical Center – I recommend them to everyone!”
